Delicious recipe! We love corned beef and cabbage with all the wonderful vegetables. (Son't forget the horseradish on the side!
Another great treatment: after the corned beef cools slightly criss-cross score the meat. Mix dark mustard, brown sugar together as a paste, then add in ginger ale to about the same consistency as pancake syrup. Top corned beef with mixture and place in hot oven for about 10 minutes or so to glaze. Yummy!! Slice thin and serve with veggies.

This was very good, but it's not really difficult to cook a good corned beef. What was exceptional was the cabbage. What a great idea. The cabbage you cook with corned beef has never thrilled me (just boring but I loved this version. I will cook it this way from now on.

This is savory cabbage at it's best! I have made this recipe without the stout, subbing 3 cups of beef stock & 1/4 cup cider vinegar instead, and it still turned out great following the rest of the recipe. Even if I sometimes don't have time to cook the other veggies, I will start the corned beef, then later follow the cabbage & onion directions at the end - so tender & delicious.

I was so excited to make this recipe, but I think I messed up. After reading other recipes, I bought regular brisket to make this, thinking that brisket and corned beef were the same. Plus, my grocery store only had brisket. While the meat itself was tender, there wasn't much flavor. Using corned beef must be really important. It was still good, which is why I still gave the recipe 4 stars, but I like strong flavors, so I was a little underwhelmed.

This was a VERY delicious meal! I did mine in my slow cooker and added everything after a long day away, and it was done in about half an hour to an hour! Simple!

I wish I could give this 10 stars! I made this for St. Patrick's Day and it was the very best I have ever tasted. I wiped out all my other Corned Beef recipes and this will be my ONLY ONE! Thank you so much!
