Positively amazing, I am not one for veggies. This one is yum yum yum, I would have thought that a person would have to develop a taste for these to like them and eat them but not really... Totally loved it with the first bite. Definitely takes the place of potato chips.

Absolutely wonderful! I can barely get my husband or my teens to eat veggies; they ate the whole bunch. No bitterness here. Perhaps the quality of the kale makes a difference. Mine did not start out too tough. My only complaint is that it took a while to get from start to finish. Next time I'll look for pre-washed.

Here are my tweaks. 1 mixed kale pieces in a bowl with kosher salt and onion powder 2 cooked one batch on a cooling rack and another on a perforated pizza pan - both worked. No soggy chips, quicker cooking 3 cooked at 275 degrees in a traditional oven for 10 minutes on side and another 6 on the other. Not convinced they needed to be turned if they are elevated. 4 I taste tested for seasoning before putting them in the oven.

I made this tonight; the kale chips came out crunchy but they have a really bitter after taste. Is it because of the kale?

I couldn't stop eating these!!! I cooked them on 325 until they were brown on the edges. I loved these much better than potato chips!!! If you want something crunchy and salty, try this!!

Thanks for the convection information- they made a completely different chip than in the regular oven- lighter and crispier. I also used a better grade of olive oil than in the past and that a make or break factor too.

I'm eating these right now. Very satisfying, especially on a diet (south beach. I bought a bag of triple washed kale pieces, it's so much faster. I took another posters advice below and put them in my convection oven for 14 minutes at 325. Hand toss the pieces on the cookie sheet with the olive oil, and sprinkle a little salt on them after they come out of the oven. This is a keeper!

I'm giving the recipe three stars because everybody else's review said they loved it, and I must not like kale -- because I didn't like this at all. It smelled and tasted like a sea-weedy low-tide at the shore. I even looked up on the internet pictures of fresh kale to make sure I bought the right vegetable. I did! I am, overall, a vegetable lover, so this was a big disappointment. But don't go by my review, I am in the vast minority.

I tried to like kale in so many ways...sauteed, in soup, grilled, all to no avail. Finally I like kale. Actually this recipe is terrific. I cooked it at 325 degrees in my convection oven for 12 minutes and it was perfect. Thanks for the recipe.

Great way to eat a healthy snack! I added sesame seeds in addition to the olive oil and salt. They added the perfect nutty flavor, and my husband even ate them too!

These kale chips are delicious and though the prep times takes planning, the results were great. I baked them for 30 minutes and had a healthy green vegetable that is really good for you. Try some soon.
