I have decided I am just not a big fan of whole wheat flour. I thought it totally overpowered everything else in the biscuit. The biscuits were light and tender and would be good with all purpose flour instead of any whole wheat. They won't be quite as healthy but I can live with that.

I tried these tonight. Really yummy. I mixed by hand, and used all white flour with the addition of a tablespoon of wholewheat and 1 tbsp. oatmeal. I also added about 1/4 cup toasted walnuts to the green onions and since I didn't have parm, I used the same amount of Parrano.

It was so easy and turned out really well.

Melissa, I love having recipes that are easy to adapt to my own kitchen with whatever I have on hand. Rock on!

Never made drop bicuits before and was amazed. They were terrific and I only had Gruyere cheese and no problem, they were great.

Why are there some many negative remarks about Melissa...JEALOUS Elizabeth?

    Melissa is THE BEST!!

AFTER MELISSA GETTING RAVE REVIEWS DURING FNS FOR HER BAKING ABILITIES, I WAS AMAZED AT HOW DRY AND FLAVORLESS THESE WERE. MAYBE IT WAS THE WHEAT FLOUR ....DON'T KNOW. AS ONE OF THE OTHER REVIEWERS MENTIONED EMERIL'S BISCUITS ....I THINK I WILL TRY THAT RECIPE. THANKS FOR MENTIONING IT, GWYNNE.

I tried Melissa's biscuit to see if a quicker biscuit method was any good. I found them tasteless and overly paste-y to work with.

I've made Emeril's 'Drop Biscuits with Green Onions' for 6+ years, ever since we had them at his restaurant. They cannot be beat! Supe flavor, light and yummy; you can't eat just one!

Sorry Melissa, I'm heading back to Emeril.

I was quite eager to try a simpler, drop method. It's about 20% of the work of rolling them out. FREAKING AWESOME FLAVOR!! It is so obvious to me that Melissa's approach to cooking with peppers during the competition (she bit into every one to determine its heat level is EXACTLY how she approaches all of her cooking. These recipes have been tested repeatedly and tweaked so delightfully that she manages to wring unbelievable flavor from a T. of cheese and a few onions. I subbed Asiago for Parm and used all white flour. I have renamed them "Onion Clouds," but promise to only call them that in the privacy of my own home :
Brava, Melissa! I'm proud of you. You remind me of my mom, another inventive, creative spitfire.

I love green onions, I put them in everything, but never tried them in biscuits. We just served them with leftover vegetable soup. They were great. Question to Elizabeth, why do you try her recipes if you keep posting that every recipe is bad? Also, I know that biscuits are a staple recipe, and people make savory biscuits all the time, but it's simple and tasty. However, I don't know how to make biscuits, so it's nice that people still make simple food on Food Network, beginner cooks still exist. Also, you haven't watched the show where she makes these yet, how do you know she doesn't give any good tips for making biscuits?

We loved these buscuits! I already had a popular boxed buscuit mix, so I used that instead of the other ingredients. The green onions made these taste so good. Definately will bake these again!

I loved these drop biscuits. So quick and easy to make! I don't know where anyone came up with bland for this recipe, even my picky hubby loved these. I've made them a few times now and they came our just as perfect every time, the last time I used dill and a bit more cheese and they were wonderful that way. I suspect the recipe is meant to be flavored with the onion or some spice so perhaps you don't want to leave that out. Thanks Melissa my whole family ate these up!
