Wasn't sure I would like this recipe. I like anise, but fennel can be overpowering sometimes. But it was great and really easy. This will definitely become a staple in my house. We ate the entire salad in one meal. Had hoped to take some for lunch tomorrow, oh well.

As for Audrey from TX's comment on the cost of fennel, it only cost me $.99 and the entire cost of the dish was less than $3. So it's definitely a budge recipe in these tough times!

Milissa don't let the fewe neg remarks bother you. Take their 1 star and add to mine.
I had not watched the foodtv for many years. It used to be my favorite I had so many health problems I just stopped watching. I am 70 years old and could write a book with all of the things that I have been thru.
Making a boring and long story short:
My granddaughter asked if I would dvr the next food star for her. She lives over 2 hrs away and was coming for a visit. I did it for her and I was hooked again. I am so wanting to cook again but for me if I make one dish I've done a lot.
I had not even been shopping for weeks. I made list of groceries that I was going to make. so far, nothing, but I am not giving up. I bought my fennel am going to try my best tomorrow to makd the slaw.
FOR THE NEG ONES HOW WOULD YOU ACT AS A NEW STAR?????

This is easy to make, different because of the fennel, crunchy and delicious.
It is refreshing as is Melissa! Congrats on winning and so happy to be able to watch you on FN!

Don't laugh, but I have never used fennel before, and now after making Melissa's slaw salad,I am hooked!. I am cruising the FoodNtework website for more recipes with fennel to try.!

I haven't made this recipe, but have watched all of her shows. What a refreshing change of personalities. She gives viewers great information and I will definitely try most of the recipes.

WOW, this combination of ingredients and the tangyness of the dressing was perfect. It did not last on the table for long....no leftovers. Making more slaw today. Thanks, Melissa

I am not a fan of fennel but this slaw was delicious!! Everything worked together just great! This is a definite "make again" in my house. Easy to prepare and tastes wonderful too.
