These were good. Not great and not terrible. The flavors are all light, so no explosions of taste, but not bland either. I have had better fish tacos ( or in this case tostadas but the BK fish sandwich is worse than this.

I tried this recipe b/c I really like Melissa and I was desperate to try something new. So, I followed the recipe to a "T" and decided to try it. Now, normally I am not a fan of avacados or cilantro, but I decided to do it just like she said. The recipe took me a little longer than I thought it would, but the end result was amazing! We gobbled up the tostadas (including my two children...wow! and my husband was literally pouring the extra pineapple salsa over plain tostadas at the end of the meal. Incredibly yummy. The flavors all sent together so well, and it really was a one dish meal. Thank you Melissa!!!!

I saw this episode and thought this recipe sounded fabulous. It was a little bit of work in the kitchen though, but well worth the effort! Absolutely delicious! I will make this again and invite guests!

This was worth the effort! Didn't expect to like the salsa but it was GREAT! Such a nice change for dinner, great textures and the fish was very nice, good lime flavor from the marinade. I used frozen tilapia which is usu pretty bland but the marinade worked well on the fish. Wonderful recipe Melissa!

I could notfind any non-farm raised tilapia, so I substituted shrimp. It was delicious. The salsa is light and fresh. Home fried tostadas are 1000% better than store bought. It was a really great dish, peffect for summer.

I made this recipe this afternoon for lunch and my husband and I both LOVED it! I'm extremely surprised that people say the flavors don't work together. Citrus, fish, and garlic don't work?? Strange...

I did not make my own tostadas, as I figured I would save myself a bit of work by not having to fry them myself and the price difference was not worth it to me.

I used halibut steaks because it was what I had in my freezer. I marinated the steaks and broiled them whole, chunking the fish up after it was cooked. The marinade was simple, quick, and delicious.

The beans were really good, but I did not use the full two teaspoons of dried oregano that the recipe called for, as I felt it would overwhelm the flavor of the beans. I used about a teaspoon and it was perfect.

The salsa was AMAZING and I will definitely make this just to serve with chips. I'm a big fan of fruit salsas, and this one is perfectly flavored. I didn't follow Melissa's recommendation of using pineapple rings and cutting them yourself and I wish I would have. I bought chunks because I was feeling lazy, but they were too big. It was still delicious, but next time, I'll take her advice and cut the pineapple quite a bit smaller than those huge chunks.

All in all, this recipe was delicious and I'll DEFINITELY be making it again soon! Brava Melissa!!

This is the second of Melissa's recipes i have tried and they have both been home-runs. I had a little difficulty getting the tostadas right. Still playing with the oil temp and how long to fry them so they aren't soggy in the middle and not burned. I did it with a little extra lime in the salsa and it worked really well. I highly recommend this for people who are fish-taco-phobic. It is an economical, fun dinner to have with your kids. My seven year old loves it and loves helping me build the tostadas.

My family LOVED this meal. I actually used canned white beans because I didn't have enough time to do the dry ones, and I marinated the cabbage a bit to soften it. It was delicious and there wasn't a scrap left over - we ate it all!! The flavors were wonderful.

The flavors do not combine well.

It's not a good "quick" dinner for the harried working mother.

    It's not economical AT ALL!

And all the positive reviews are totally BOGUS!

    Melissa, you suck!!!

I made this recipe last night. I followed the directions to a "T" but halved the amount of fish since it was just me and my bf. I think I will try the same marinade with some other proteins: the bf loves pork, so I think I will try that next. I am eating the leftover beans today for lunch with some plain corn torillas. My favorite part of the dish was the salsa--love that spicy and sweet combo. I made a full batch of the salsa and will probably venture into making my own chips (tostada style, but cut into wedges. All in all, a delicious, flavorful and filling meal! We LOVE Melissa & her recipes!!
