Delicious! Well worth the time -- and it didn't take that long either.
Tender wraps with delicate flavor! I used coconut oil in place of the vegetable shortning and they turned out perfectly!

These tortillas were delicious, soft and yummy. Like the previous review said, I also had to add a bit more water to the dough. I will also make again. Thank you Melissa.

These are really good. I needed to add a bit more water to mix the dough. Will make again.

I can't believe it but I did it. They are easy. Just follow Melissas instructions to the letter. The only thing I didn't anticipate is how hard the rolling out is....but patience wins out. I used these in a Chicken Enchillada recipe and it made it better for sure.

Stuck at home during a snow storm, and needed tortillas! Melissa to the rescue, very easy to make. Will be hard to go back to "store bought"....the taste just doesn't compare.

I will not go back to store bought tortillas again (if time allows lol. I made three batches because I was having company over, plus I have four kids, so I know I needed alot. I made what I needed and had some rolled out ones left over (didn't cook them yet so i threw them in the freezer over night with them in between the wax layers. I let them sit out alittle this morning and I cooked them just now and have to say it worked out great. Definitely would make a huge batch, freeze and leave on the counter until ready to use. I found the dough was smooth and very easy to work with. Thanks so much!!

7-15-12 For how easy this it, it's a five! Made these just after the show aired this morning. She used a food processor (which I used and also used just short of 1/2 c water. I did not have shortening, so I used marjarine instead and also used the butter.
I rolled by dough larger than the 7" directed in the recipe, since her rolled tortillas looked larger than 7". After cooking, my tortillas were crisp, but were fine for what I wanted them for. 7" is the right size, I will do that the next time.
Tip: Roll dough onto it's own piece of wax paper. Sprinkle the paper with 1/4 t. flour and roll the rolling pin in it too. Just the right amount to keep from sticking. The paper will move around on your surface, so a bit tricky to roll.
7-18-12 I made my first one using my tortilla press but found was a bit too thick. Onto the Press and Seal for a bit more rolling out. The tortillas held their shape better starting with the press. Great tips!

I decided to make "half" of this recipe just to see how they would turn out. WOW! It was so easy and very delicious! I used white whole wheat flour instead, and was absolutely amazed how wonderful they came out! Instead of wax paper I used Glad "Press n Seal" wrap to roll my dough. I put the sticky side down and it worked like a charm and didn't move when I rolled it out. Then you can peel the tortilla off and use the same sheet to roll the next one! I will definitely be making the "whole" recipe next time! I certainly never thought I'd ever be making home made tortillas! Thanks Melissa!
