This was actually pretty yummy, could not find skirt or flank steak so I used porterhouse, wow, was tasty!
I wish Melissa would listen to herself talk on the taped shows. She says "there we go" at least 30 times a show, or she says "PERFECT" the same amount sometimes every other word. It's reallyannoying to listen to her so I have stopped watching.
Someone from the production team needs to teach her a more expansive vocabulary other than PERFECT and THERE WE GO.
    Come on.

My store did not have skirt steak so I tried a different meat, chuck steak, and my husband and son loved it. I'm picker and didnt care for the meat. I'll try again with a different cut of meet.

I made this recipe with some modifications and I think I might have messed it up. It was not as tasty as I thought it would be, but I still ate it and my husband liked it. First, I only had red onions, but thought it would be fine. Secondly, I only had smoked paprika on hand. I had a ton of trouble getting the onions to carmelize on low. I let them sit there for nearly ten minutes before I pumped up the heat to at least get them started. I turned it up to medium and stood right by the stove, but ended up getting distracted with the rub and slightly burned a few of the onions. I think that is what altered the taste of the onions and made them bitter, but not sure because they didn't really get all that sweet. Super disappointing, but my fault entirely. The smoked paprika in the rub didn't work so well with the onions, but again, this was my modification. I did serve this with Melissa's individual potatoes au gratin, which were delicious made with goat cheese. All in all, it was still pretty good.

This steak was delicious. I substituted the skirt steak for flank steak as my supermarket had better quality flank and it worked well with this recipe. The spice rub and onion reduction really made this dish a winner.

I was so surprised by how much flavor was brought out by the rub! Yum.

I couldn't find skirt steak that day, so I substituted flap meat, and it worked great - I just needed to extend the cooking time since it is thicker.

This was fantastic. My whole family (even picky eaters enjoyed this. My grocery store did not have skirt steaks the day I was there, but they did have hanger steaka, so I sub'd. It was tender and very flavorful!! As delicious as the steak was....I must confess, the onions were my favorite part! Will definitely make this one again--Thanks Melissa!! Served with the 5 min. individual Potato Gratins, which were also delicious, and a salad. Yummm....

The simplicity of this recipe is the true beauty! So few items with such a BIG taste! The steak was tender and the onions added so much flavor. This is a new family fav in our house! We love you Melissa!

I've never ever reviewed a recipe before, but I felt like this one deserved a little of my time! My family LOVED this! (husband, 8 & 10 yr old daughters This recipe was full of flavor, easy to prepare and best of all fed us all for under $10 bucks! We are on a budget like most people & this recipe fulfilled my husbands need for beef but not at the price of a big steak. Thanks Melissa! I'll definately be back for more!

I,ve never used a steak rub before, but this one sounded easy and I trust Melissa. The taste is fantastic!!! I used it on ribeye steaks and the meat was so juicy and flavorful. Thanks!
