Melissa, this was a wonderful recipe, I have many recipe books and have never found this exact one, but the main reason I tried it was because you made we want too!!
I'm sure if you went through a library of cook books, you would eventually find ever recipe made on FOOD NETWORK!!!!
Thanks for your wonderful recipes, Diane from Texas

For those who think all recipes must be new, get real! There is nothing new under the sun (Solomon. To think Food Network chefs have time to cite every recipe is ridiculous. For instance, if a chef states that got a particular recipe from a particular source, there will be many who challenge this. They will say, "No, that's not where this recipe came from. It came from_____". Then other will say "No, it cam from ____". On and on and on. So you see, it would be an impossible task on normal recipes like carrots, potatoes, meat, chicken, etc. Come on people, these chefs are trying to help the beginner or average cook become better; not presenting everything as their own invention. There were those who were critical of Elvis Presley because he did not write any of the songs he sang! Did that make us enjoy them less? If all you have to do is criticize, stay away! Legitimate critiques of recipes if what these forums are for; not host bashing! The carrots were great! I don't care who the original author was, I got the recipe from Melissa.

My grandmother, mother and I have been making these carrots for years - don't believe that Melissa should have said she "invented" it. Do not like her show - she acts as though the rest of us know nothing about cooking! Also, her first show was certainly full of France and Paris - not necessary! Will not watch her again.

For all you naysayers, I've got over 1000 cookbooks and can tell you there's probably not a new recipe out there. This is no exception. I was making a spice rubbed chicken at the same time and had spiced brown sugar ready to go. So, the brown sugar I used had a bit of ground coriander, paprika, pepper and garlic. I added the cumin but left out the lemon juice and parsley. We've now had this twice in a week and have given it our top rating both times. This is a great way to cook carrots.

and had a slight Indian flavor based on the cumin. It was very flavorful. My carrots did not really glaze, but the flavor was very good.

The show is interesting and the receipes are easy and fun to make as well as kid friendly. Don't forget the show concept of dinners for $10 for a family of four. Melissa gives great ideas with the show as well as showing new cooks how easy it can be to feed a family of four for less than an evening at McD's.

The carrots were delicious. I believe that you achieved your goal of making something that was good, easy to prepare, and low-cost.
Thank you,
Sherry

I made these along with the other two companion dishes. For some reason, the sauce didn't reduce properly for it to be a nice glaze, so I added mroe brown sugar. Wonder what I did wrong?

They directions were not correct...at least for me. I was really excited to try it and was way more than just disappointed. I will never make these again...ever.
