I took this cake to a dinner and everyone loved it! It was the perfect size cake. It had just the right amount of sweetness, very fluffy, extremely easy to make, and just an all around nice light dessert! I can't wait to make it again this weekend!

Melissa always delivers. She is my go-to gal when I want a recipe that works. Thanks Melissa for an easy lemon confection.

Loved it! It was super easy and quick to make. I made mine with orange instead of lemon and it was a hit. Would probably be good with lime as well. Great quick weeknight dessert.

The Cake was good but dry. I mean, youre going to need some tea to wash it down! Make it more moist by adding a 1/2 cup of sour cream to the batter. Other than that, its a quick and easy dessert!

Delicious and super simple! The best thing was I always have these ingredients in the pantry. Also a big fan of lemon so this was up my alley. Yummy!!!

Cake went together very quickly so an easy dessert to make on a weeknight. The cake was light and raised double in the 8 x 8 pan. Not sure if this is the reason but I added the dry ingredients in the wet bowl (without sifting together then added the lemon juice and it started to fizzle when it hit the baking powder. My co-workers liked the cake since it is not over lemony but I would add a bit of lemon extract the next time to boost the lemon flavor. The glaze was wonderful on the cake. Will make again!

The texture of these tea cakes almost have a pound cake-like texture. Sifting is key to getting a light and fluffy consistency. They are DELICIOUS and good for a quick-easy to prepare-snack to satisfy a sweet tooth. The recipe is small enough to ward off overindulgence. I didn't have a lemon on hand so I didn't add the zest. I used 1/4 cup of lemon juice from the bottle. Try them.

I watched Melissa make this yesterday on her show and decided to give it a try. It was super easy, but didn't quite rise enough in the center. I used an 8" x 8" pan as the recipe states, although it appeared that the pan she used was rectangular on the show. I don't know if this had anything to do with it not rising quite as much in the center. The toothpick still came out clean, and had I left it in any longer the edges would have been too dry. I'm certain of that because I just ate a piece today and it was already starting to dry out. I'm not sure I would make it again, but I certainly don't regret making it yesterday, it has very good flavor!
