Good basic recipe, but it needed a little sumpin' sumpin'..so I added tomatillos (I roasted them with the anaheims, chopped them up and added with the peppers.. I also made a sofrito, meaning I added a little green pepper with the garlic and onion..I didn't do the wine because I had a 1 year old eating it, so used more broth..and blended extra beans with the roasted garlic to add to the thickness..at the end I added a little fresh lime juice, and we added greek yogurt (instead of sour cream at the table with the cheese..wonderful! My family taste testers think some roasted fresh corn kernals would be a nice touch..I'll try that next time..

My 5th grade son and I made this for the annual elementary school chili cook off. The teachers were the judges and they loved it! Very easy to make and a big hit for all!

I've made white chili for years with my own recipe (stealing tips from everyoneand everyone loves it. Tried this once last winter and completely loved it. It was a knotch above any other white chili I've made. I don't know if it was the shallots or the roasted garlic that made the difference. I just know it had a very rich flavor that my girlfriend and I said was a keeper. I'm making a version tonight using leftover turkey. I love this recipe! It's five star.

I've been wanting to make this for MONTHS and finally did this weekend. It was absolutely WONDERFUL. The flavor was great and it was easy to make. I didn't put all the peppers in that the recipe called for and I'm glad I didn't. It had plenty of kick with only one pepper in it. I will definitely make again.

I tried this soup for a Halloween party and nobody liked it at all. I think next time I will use normal chicken broth instead of low sodium. It had no taste at all except for kick at the end.

To be honest this was the worst thing I ever tasted in my life! I threw it all away.

I have my own favorite white chili recipe, but I have to say this was great. I didn't use all the roasted garlic (and I roasted it in the oven instead of the micro. Even my hubby liked it - GASP!

I have to heartily agree with the writer that said Melissa should have a much broader theme to her show and "kitchen survival guide" would be awesome! I think Melissa is very personable and deserves to be doing more than 10 buck dinners!
