Made these tonight with quinoa instead of the couscous and they were fabulous! Although my 3 year old was not a fan because of all of the different flavors, my husband and I were won over. Besides substituting the quinoa for the couscous, which I still prepared with the dates, the only other alterations I did were that I pureed the sauce in a food processor in an attempt to make it more appealing to my daughter and I halved the amount of red pepper flakes so it wouldn't be too spicy for the kiddo. Since she wasn't a big fan of the meatballs, I wished I had used all of the flakes because I would have preferred a little extra spice. I also prepared Melissa's glazed carrots which were a flop. Read my review under that recipe.

Definitely a regular at our table. I skipped browning the meatballs and cooked them with the sauce. Served over plain couscous - very delicious!

There is no way that 3/4 lbs of beef makes 32 meatballs, but the flavors were great. I omitted the olives and reduced the pepper flakes for the kids and they loved it. Double this recipe for some great leftovers.

I loved these but the flavors were a little too unusual and spicy for the two guests I served it to.

We loved this! The meatballs and couscous are delicious on their own, and absolutely fabulous together. I will definitely make it again. The only changes I made was to ditch the olives and wine--I hate olives, and don't drink.

Amazing. Easy to make. I didn't have white wine so I substituted with beer. Super tasty. My family loved it.
