Unbelievable in many ways. I don't like fresh ginger and don't like meat with sweet things and cinnamon, but all together the dish becomes something else entirely. Perfect with the couscous with the dates.

Very tasty. I haven't made it myself but it's been made for me a couple of times. And ended up with a lot of nice pantry items in the process.

I just made this tonight, and everybody said they really liked it. I forgot to add the oatmeal in the meat, so I rolled the meatballs in oatmeal before I fried them, which then acted as a thickener to the sauce! That meant I had to add more chicken broth, so it ended up that I could stretch the recipe to feed five adults -- terrific! I had used my last box of couscous, so I used quinoa instead, and it worked great, too. Rolling all those meatballs was sort of tedious, so next time, I'll try to do it ahead like another reviewer mentioned, so it doesn't feel so intensive right at mealtime. Nice flavors!

I made everything in this episode and it was delicious. Husband is always willing to try everything I cooked and he LOVED it--was up for a second helping and took the leftovers for lunch today. The couscous was so good. The balance of sweet, to savory, to spicy was perfect. My store didn't have plain couscous so I bought chicken flavored and added the dates. The carrots were so easy to make and sooooooo scrumptious. Thanks for an excellent low cost meal. My only negatives: long prep, but worth it and I will work on cutting the acidity a bit.

This recipe required alot of prep time but I made the meatballs early in the day and put them on a cookie sheet covered in the fridge until I was ready for them so all I had to do was prep the rest of the meal. The meal was so worth the wait it was DELICIOUS! I also made the glazed carrots as my side along with the couscous. Instead of dates in the couscous I used light raisins!

We loved the different layers of flavors, and I liked the ease of preparation. Lots of ingredients, but all things I had on hand. Definitely a keeper. My husband hates cilantro, but he couldn't tell there was cilantro in the meatballs. The flavors blended perfectly and no one ingredient stood out. I followed Melissa's recipe exactly, and we didn't think it was too hot although it was spicy. I made it with the couscous recipe, and will prepare both recipes again.

I used turkey instead of beef and served this over regular pre-package couscous. It was delicious. I served this with Giada's lentil soup. I am going to increase the sauce more next time I make this. It had some kick to this but it was good
