A real keeper! I also omitted the basil and added a half cup of chocolate chips! Perfection! Thank you Melissa!

This was amaazingly easy and tasty. As someone else noted, you do need a good bit of flour to shape the VERY sticky dough. Also, I didn't think my family would go for the basil, so instead I put in some dried cherries. Very, very yummy!

I left out the basil because my husband wouldn't have eaten them otherwise. I added Pure Almond Extract to get more of that flavor we like too. I also left mine in one larger log instead of dividing it. I wanted to get the size biscotti that we get at Starbucks and not 'child size' pieces like she had. And believe me when she says you're going to need extra flour because the dough is sticky, she's not kidding! It was a mess to work with when shaping!

But for a first attempt at biscotti, I am super happy with them. They're flavorful, and the texture and taste is what we're used to from Starbucks brand Almond Biscotti. I'll make them again, but think I'll add more orange zest than she calls for and try dipping some of them in icing.

My first attempt in making biscotti was a success. I love this variation with the orange and basil. I dipped the ends of mine in vanilla icing.

Terrific and easy! This was my first time making a biscotti and they turned out fantastic! I omitted the Basil and added some vanilla bean with the orange zest and sliced almonds.
