This recipe was easy to make and very tasty. It's a very cold day here in Pittsburgh and it was the perfect start to dinner. My family loved this soup.

I watched the show today and made this soup...it was good! I WILL make it again. I read the review where the viewer felt that all the FN shows were the same, and that Melissa's was no different...and this is how I feel-- I am a mother of two and a full time student. We live on a very tight budget. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Melissa's show because she can make a great meal on a budget for her family. Are there other shows like her's...sort of, but she is making realistic, easy to prepare meals that my family will actually eat. Other shows that focus on a budget don't always make meals that my family will even try. I love Melissa's show and think that it is perfect for families trying to eat great meals on a budget!! The tips are awesome too! Great job, Melissa!

I watched the show today and got right up and made this soup. It is so fast and delicious. I will be making it again soon. I think next time I will double the recipe so I have some leftover. My family loved it!!! Also a great soup for company.

to counter balance the RAVE reviews given by people who've never even made the soup with a PAN review of my own since I also have never made the soup. Once I DO actually make the soup, I'll be sure to actually REVIEW the recipe based on the actual OUTCOME.

Last time I made carrot soup I didn't care for it. This recipe was not only easy but added great flavor with the orange and oregano. Sour Cream is must to add the needed tang. Thanks

I missed you, and looking forward to many more shows with your talent. I printed the recipes, and plan to have a few of me friends over.
May 2010 be the best year for Melissa, and the Food Network!

After watching the show and reviewing others' reviews, I figured this soup would be bland. So, I roasted some garlic. When the recipe called for it, I added 4 cloves of roasted garlic, (which is probably too much unless you're a garlic lover like me! a bunch more oregano than what the recipe called for, and also zested a whole orange into the soup! Yum! I'm so pleased with the end result! What a great idea for carrots as I would have never guessed!

Since half the reviews for the recipe here are based on opinion and impressions (rather than making the dish, I may as well give mine as well and "stir the pot" so to speak. This dish is same as the hundred or so others that can easily be found on the internet. Monkeys could be trained to make this, which is what I feel FN is trying to do us as viewers. It is sad that FN has begun to sink so low, so many of the shows on now are nearly carbon copies of each other. I do not feel compelled to watch nearly as much as I used to, but when I do an feel irritated it is great to know we have this forum since FN does not respond to an individuals e-mails. Sorry to those who actually wanted to know about this dish.

Followed the recipe perfectly right after watching Melissa and referring to the recipe online. Yet, something was missing - flavor. No scent of orange, very little carrot flavor mostly onion and oregano. Salt and pepper did not help. I like all the ingrediants and it is very healthy but not sure I'll try again. Like Melissa alot !!! Great tips and information.
