This is a very hearty, filling and flavorful soup. What a great method for making the soup as well. Very easy, and yet the results? Delicious! I made one tweak that improved the flavor even more: A tablespoon of brown sugar mixed in at the end to bring out the sweetness of the carrots. Thank you, Mrs. d'Arabian! :D

This soup is sooooo good! I make a lot of homemade soup and freeze the leftovers. This was so delicious I just put it in the refrigerator and ate it until it was gone.

I wanted to love this but it is just blah to me - was very thick - had to add more chicken broth - then more zest, finally some sugar to try to jazz it up - won't make again unless it gets better overnight.

I just had a bowl, the more I ate the more I loved it. I used lemon instead of orange and heavy cream instead of sour cream because that's what I had in the fridge. My husband agreed that we will be having it again. I was surprised by the flavor of the oregano with the carrots. I also used all chicken broth instead of half water, I use boullion cubes so cutting cost was not an issue. Thanks Melissa!

I'm not a good cook. I can burn boiled water. But this turned out great for me. My only suggestion - if you're not a huge fan of onions cut what the recipe calls for in half.

I love it! My elderly parents live with me and my Mom hates carrots. So, why did I make this soup you might wonder....well, I guess I have a mean streak. But, anyway, Mom loved it. Of course, she didn't know what she was eating. And, that's a trick she taught me to use on my little boys. So, she should have seen it coming. The recipe so so simple, and so quick to fix, I will be using it again soon!

Love the soup! I added a roasted yellow bell pepper, went light on the orange zest, and topped with a sprinkling of feta: delicious. My 3 year old loved it and so did my husband. It's so easy to make that I'm sure this will be added to my repertoire.

I love carrot soup, I love Melissa's show and her recipes, but not this one. I followed it to the measurement and I ended up with watery, tasteless, goop. I have no idea what went wrong but something did! I have read everyones complaints about oregano and orange flavors that were too powerful, but I would have loved to taste something... The longer the soup sat in the bowl, the more it separated into orange colored puree and orange water. I hope everyone else has better luck than I did. I am not a beginner cook and can read and follow a recipe but somewhere along the way it went wrong.

My husband is not a big fan of soup. He walked through the kitchen and asked what I was making. My reply "Carrot Soup." His reply "oh." Later I spotted him in the kitchen for seconds. That's one of the best compliments we can receive. Thanks Melissa

I really like oranges and I really like carrots so I thought this soup would be a great recipe that involves two very flavorful ingredients. After making it, all I could taste was the orange. It was so overpowering I had a hard time trying to finish my bowl. I would recommend the soup but without the orange zest. I might even say to cut back on the zest but there it calls for so little to begin with I would recommend just deleting it. Also, I felt that the oregano was a little too much as well. That is an ingredient you can probably cut back on just a tad.
