This was such an elegant dessert. And my boyfriend-- who is really picky about desserts- asked for seconds! He said that he liked its simplicity and that it wasn't too sweet or too rich. Of course for seconds we tried the pears warm with a side of vanilla ice-cream and the chocolate sauce. *drool*

OK, I'm not a fan of fuss budget recipes, so I was a little skeptical going in to this recipe. However, these poached pears were simple, the chocolate sauce was a cinch, and the presentation was stunning. I'm hooked. Now I am thinking about ways to play with the basic recipe - hmmm. ?Maybe cinnamon redhots. Thank you, Melissa -- I really learned something today!
