The pork came out juicy and the filling with the ham and cheese such a nice surprise. Melissa's promise might be "Four people, ten bucks," but she consistently presents delicious recipies on her show. The affordable part is great, too!

The flavors did not blend well together. The sauce did not do much for me as I thought the wine flavor was too strong. I would not make this again as is, but I would probably try it with chicken; as this idea is similar to the Cordon Bleu.

Overall this is a very good recipe with the sauce being the highlight of the dish. I had the butcher cut the pork loin in a manner to make a rolled stuffed roast, making the assembly simpler. Even with that, I do not think the thin slices of ham and swiss cheese added that much to the quality of the dish although the ham added a bit of color to the roast. I plan to make it again for a holiday meal and will try adding MORE ham and cheese to the stuffing to see if that improves the flavor and appearance of the final dish. I agree that chopping the carrots and onions more finely will also be an improvement. I also plan to try this recipe using chicken (probably not stuffing it but using the sauce ingredients and cooking method. The sauce is really delicious.

This recipe is awesome! The pork is very flaverful and tender once cooked this way. Even my extremely picky husband liked it. Thanks Melissa!! My changes: I used 1/2 slice of swiss cheese per person (to cut back on fat, I used extra dry Martini & Rossi vermouth in place of the white wine, and I added extra carrots and chicken broth.

Absolutely FABULOUS!!!! Instead of a stuffed pork roast, I used a Door County cherry pork tenderloin. I also used twice the carrots. My family LOVED it!!!! A definite "do-again" recipe.

    Thank you, Melissa! :

Excellent dish!! My kids LOVED it and they are very picky! A great family meal but also a great main dish for a dinner party! A new staple in our house! I added leeks and thought it was a nice addition, I'll probably add some fennel next time. I agree with an earlier review, I'll add more carrots as well. Thank you Melissa!

This recipe is amazing! I made it for my husband after work tonight. He was blown away for a random dinner after work. He licked his plate clean because the sauce was so good!! This is the first time I ever made this but it will not be the last. I will probably use more carrots next time because they were so delicious. It yields plenty of sauce! Yum!

This recipes is FANTASTIC! I used fennel as well as the carrots and onions, and since my roast was larger than the one in the recipe (almost 5 lbs., I had to cook it longer. I cooked it in the oven on 325 in my dutch oven for about 2.5 hrs. The veggies were very soft by the time the meat was done, so hit the sauce with a stick blender before adding the mushrooms and sour cream, which made it very smooth and the perfect consistency. The gruyere melts into the sauce and gives it a wonderful flavor. The pork was tender and delicious. I served it with cabbage sauteed with bacon, apples and onions and garlic mashed potatoes. It was a huge hit!

This is awesome! I have made it twice and today for a third! Today I don't have ham and swiss so I used onions, garlic and Mozzarella, parmesan, and provolone cheese mix.(I am sure it will be wonderful Someone said the cheese doesn't add anything...wrong it adds plenty of flavor!
