Not a big fan of Melissa however I may be rethinking that. So far I've tried two recipes of hers (this and the black bean brownies and they both were wonderful. I made this recipe exactly the way it is written and it is a little bit of work but well worth it. The recipe makes more like 8 servings.

This was the first time I have made a successful pie crust that everyone loved. I have made many of Melissa's recipes, and I enjoy that her talents allow good tasting food from all over the world to make it to our table within budget. She is incredibly talented and practical and a staple in our house. Her tips for storing, purchasing, and processing food stuffs make me a much better cook since she won the fifth season.

Please, Melissa, do a pastry only show. Your video is awesome, and you have made me drool with some of your creations. We home bodies can relate to you, thank you so much !!

This is a fantastic family meal! I've been looking for an easy, delicious pastry recipe and this one is it. The pastry recipe will be so versatile and I'm so glad to have it! Overall, the recipe is delicious and fairly simple to make. It may not be a week night meal unless you're a stay-home-mom like me and can start it at 4 in the afternoon. Given the time to make the crust, let it set in the fridge, doing the rest of the prep and actual bake time, unless you do the prep the night before, it's not a week night meal. But, that said, it is absolutely delicious and worth any effort/time involved. My husband loved it, even my 2 year old sons liked it. This will definitely be a regular in our house from now on!!

This was the first episode I caught of this show and I LOVE IT! Simple ingredients, affordable and an end result that makes me feel good about cooking! I changed it up a bit and nixed the bacon, shredded the potatoes and added onions. The Applesauce dessert couldn't have been simpler and REALLY tasted great and had great texture, a perfect substitute for ice cream.
I got a season pass to the show via Tivo and can't wait for the weekend so we can get our Dutch Baby on!

    Thanks so much, Melissa!!

Melissa is terrific. I can't wait to find the stores she shops in. This entire meal cost 10.00.
Guyere, bacon, butter, applesauce, greek yogurt, mesculin salad. Wow ! She's the best.

I had to cover it after 15 minutes, then uncover it after 45 minutes, so that the crust do not browns before the potatoes get cooked.

Yum, you'll want to shove this in the freezer before you eat the whole thing at once!
