This recipe is good, but like others said it needs more bacon and definately more cheese!

This is by far the best recipe on foodnetwork. It is so delicious! The only thing I would change is to add twice the bacon. 4 strips of bacon isn't enough for a torte this big.

An almost-perfect recipe. First of all - full disclosure: I didn't make the pie crust, used store bought and it was fine. I would suggest layering the Gruyere along with the bacon between the potato layers so it seeps down into the torte rather than staying near the top. And to make sure potato slices are thin - and I mean REALLY thin - invest in a mandoline.

Fabulous!!!. What's not to love? A fabulously flaky butter-predominant pie crust that is EASY, potatoes galore, and BACON!!! MMMMM. Delicious.
A great dish to have in your recipe armamentarium.

I agree with so many others that this is the best pie crust recipe EVER! I have never made a crust from scratch and frankly was scared to try it, but am oh so glad I did. I used the crust to top a peach cobbler for my Thanksgiving dinner yesterday and it was de-li-cious!!! Thanks Melissa!

This torte offers a delicious taste of Paris! It has the perfect blend of texture, creaminess, and savory taste. Paired with the salad from Melissa's Parisian segment, it's a wonderful meal at half the price of L'Madeleine. The ingredient list is simple. The instructions are clear. It was the first time I made my own pie crust, and I am hooked! I will never buy another grocery store crust again. My husband and 8 year old twin boys ate every bite and loved it. What a massive victory considering I have picky eaters! Overall, it's a wonderful recipe that I will use for family meals and brunches with the girlfriends.

I have to say that I love this recipe... my only thing is that I don't have a food processor and I so need one... but this was one of the first dishes that I ever tried and I have to say that I felt like I was on top of the world making the crust and fixing everything else.... and it takes so much work... but it's cheap and yummy...

Loved this recipe. Could use a little more liquid in with the potatoes.
Served this with creamed chicken and broccoli flowerettes over top.
Yum!

I meant to review this recipe ages ago, but forgot...just caught it again on repeat and sat down to register, just to review.
The things I have done for this recipe!
I never made a homemade crust before, this recipe looked so good I went and bought a food processor. I am so glad I did, I have not bought pre-made pie crusts since.
I love this recipe and my family does, as well.
Melissa, I love your show! Since I started watching your show I have cut my grocery bill by about 40%, thank you so much. Love the tips! Keep up the great work.
