I think Melissa is one of the most inspiring cooks on food network. She brings sunshine into my life and so happy to have her back on the show. I used to be a great cook but worked many years and need a lot of help. I also like many other shows. Met Paula in Savannah and she is awesome. Also the Gina Neely is vivacious. SO glad to have Food Network in my life. Give us more of Melissa please Plan to make the tarte for thanksgiving

I am only giving this a 4 because I saw this andjust had to try it!! I didn't have any apples but I did have a can of apple pie filling and used it. I added a little more cinnamon but other then that it was very good and some of us had it with ice cream and some with whipped cream. Next time I will use *fresh* apples...

I followed the recipe exactly. What a disappoinment! The crust was fine, but the apples were terribly unappealing, dry, bland. Maybe if we had eaten it straight out of the oven with ice cream it would have been good, but it had to sit for awhile. My husband finally dumped it down the disposal. It was a sad recipe! Too bad. I like easy, which is was. If I tried it again, I would top it with something other than melted butter, a crumb topping or something. I have made a galette and brushed the top with apricot preserve mixture... this was so disappointing!

I'll never buy another crust again! Melissa is right; this crust is easy to prepare, looks great, and tastes even better. I used Granny Smith apples, a bit more cinnamon, a dash of fresh nutmeg, and a splash of lemon juice, and the tarte was fantastic! We didn't have vanilla ice cream (or chocolate, which I prefer--don't knock it until you've tried it, so I whipped up some heavy cream, for a luscious dessert. You've got to try this recipe.

The best crust recipe ever! Flaky and golden! Looks like I was cooking all day. I mixed different types of apples for my tart because that's what I had on hand. Tasted great. Can serve with ice cream or whipped cream. Delicious on a cold night in front of the fire!

never thought i would make a tart from scratch!! always thought they were too hard, but I made it with Strawberries the first time, and today I made it again but instead of water I substituded a few splashes of ice cold pinot grigio (my nonna did that for her crostata and I used pears with the cinnamon, lemon, agave syrup and almond extract....it smells delicious! hope is just as good tasting!

Love this! I was scared to make my own crust before this, but now realize how easy this is! I've made it every week for the past month. Followed recipe the first time. Now I use golden delicious apples instead of granny smith....makes the tart a little sweeter. YUMMY! Also, with my oven, I have to cook about 20 minutes longer to get the apples to the right softness.

This was very good, and I loved how easy the crust was. I accidently added both tablespoons of sugar to the crust mixture, but it tasted fine. This makes a very elegant looking dessert, and it looks like you slaved for hours making it. Couldn't have been easier!

Yummy and delicious! Crust was easy and tender and flaky. I usedgranny smith apples and more sugar than the recipe called for because I want my apple tarte sweeter than tart. Pretty as a picture as it came out of the oven!

This could not have easier to make. I forgot to put the sugar in it and it was STILL delicious. I would have baked it a little less time, a few of the apples go a little crispy. I think the hardest part was slicing the apples. I will definitely make this again. I've never seen an easier crust.
