I made the recipe with Black Thai Rice because I was looking for a way to try it since Dr. Oz mentioned a while ago that Black rice is very good for you. I followed everything in Melissa's recipe except the liquid (not intentionally it was a bit of a mistake. I added the 1/4 cup wine to the rice and then added about 1 2/3 c low sodium chicken broth and 1/3 cup white wine. It was DEEELICIOUS!!! Thanks for this recipe Melissa, it has great flavor!!!

I like to use rice instead of potatoes all the time and this filled the bill for my family. I used onions the second time and it tasted just as good as it did the first time with shallots.

I used Basmati rice and the flavor was wonderful. I did use 1 1/2 cups broth and only 1/2 cup of water. My husband and son loved this side!

I didn't have the long-grain rice so I used up some white rice! Even though the rice was different this was very good! I'm always looking for new and different side dishes and this was perfect! I look forward to using long-grain rice next time.

I followed the recipe to the "t" the first time I made it and as some other reviewers have stated, it was rather boring. The 2nd time I made it, I omitted both the water and wine and used ONLY chicken stock. (Note...Swanson makes the most flavorful chicken stock. DO NOT substitute with chicken BROTH or the rice will not be as flavorful!

I also used 2 shallots instead of one.

While the rice mixture was cooking, I toasted a handful of sliced almonds. Right before I served the rice, I tossed in the toasted almonds. My family LOVED the crunchy texture and flavor the toasted almonds brought and now, this rice dish is one of their favorites.

I've made this twice already and both times the rice came out perfect. Love the addition of wine. Will use this recipe from now on...Thanks!

Not much flavor, but definitely better than just plain old rice.

Sorry, not much flavor. Not worth the extra effort. I love to create but Zatarans Pilaf is full of flavor and this is not.

A great alternative to high-sodium packaged rice products. I used 2 cups beef stock and no water because Itha's what I had in my fridge. My kids finished every bite!
