I keep thinking I must have done something terrible wrong. Especially after reading all these great reviews. When I tried the recipe the broccoli came out really tough. Almost couldn't cut through it. Maybe I didn't peel enough off of the stems. Any ideas?

This recipe was so simple but so delicious! Hadn't ever roasted broccoli before it gave it great flavor. Will definitely make this again!

I used butter to roast the broccoli with instead f olive oil. I liked the flavor because it was a little more rich and stood up very well to the steak I cooked it with. Maybe it is a little more fattening but it was well worth it.

I happen to love broccoli but haven't made it in such a long time because it's always the same old recipe. I love to cook but my challenge is trying to find a vegetable recipe that is simple and doesn't overpower or compete with the meal. Way to go, this is a great one.

I made this to accompany Melissa's shrimp scampi pasta and it was a huge hit! Very flavorful. I wil be trying the same technique with zucchini soon. Great way to jazz up cheap veggies when we are cooking on a budget!

I had actually just thrown out some half wilted week old broccoli out when I happened to watch this show. I pulled out the broccoli (still in the bag out of the trash can to make this. I actually roasted it for a couple minutes longer and I had to add a little more salt at the end but it was amazing! I have never had roasted broccoli so it was a nice change. I ate all three heads of broccoli in one sitting! I think all three broccoli heads on sale was about $1.50. I don't know why people are nit-picking everything Melissa does. It's almost as if they're jealous or have something to prove. I just like that she uses readily available relatively inexpensive ingredients in different ways. It's not complicated gourmet cooking but that's what makes this show so usable. Ina garten's recipe had a lot more ingredients and I would have had to run to the store to get them (the fresh basil, pine nuts, etc. but I could do this with what I had in the house. Don't get me wrong, i am definitely going to try Ina's recipe because it looks and sounds delicious but I wish people would stop criticizing Melissa and I hope that she is secure enough to just tune the negativity out.

First of all, let me just say that I am not usually a fan of broccoli. It's sort of a joke with my family, so when I told my husband this morning that I wanted to try this recipe, he literally had to make sure he was hearing me correctly. This was easy to put together, and it was just the right texture. The thing I usually don't like about broccoli is that it can get mushy. Roasting it gave it just the right firmness and crunch, and then the seasoning and cheese gave it great flavor. We were truly surprised at how well this turned out and we will definitely make it again!

I love this recipe, although it's hardly different than Parmesan Roasted Broccoli, which is Ina Garten's recipe.

Why didn't I ever roast broccoli? My 9 year old daughter LOVES broccoli! She thought this recipe was incredible. It was so easy and so yummy! It will definitely be a recipe I will make again and again. Thanks, Melissa!

This is a great side dish recipe! I add a splash of lemon juice if I've got it and it enhances the flavors so much. I love it!
