I have printed off so many of her recipes my recipe keeper is overflowing! This one is a keeper as well. Full of flavor and texture but also so easy and versatile. My garden is bursting with tomatoes and need I something new to do with them. I am going to make this recipe as Melissa suggested and freeze it for winter use.

My family loved the sauce, but I'll probably only use 2 garlic cloves next time (my husband is not a huge fan of garlic. Will be making a triple batch next time and adding Italian seasonings to freeze for pasta sauce. Another winner Melissa!

The deapth of flavor really belies the ease and simplicity of this recipe. From now on I will be on the look out for sales on fresh tomatoes. A good sauce to make and freeze so that you always have it on hand. My search for a great pasta sauce is over.

This was a big hit--we served it over pasta with fresh Parmesan and a chopped salad. It was really easy to cook on a Sunday afternoon, too.

I never roasted garlic or any vegetable before, so watching Melissa demonstrate how easy it was was so helpful.

The tip about not having to use perfect tomatoes was also excellent; we buy tomatoes weekly for lunch sandwiches and often end up throwing one or two out.

I used tomatoes from our garden -- they're ripening too fast for us to eat them before they spoil. Some were split from too much sun. But in the pan they went with the onions and garlic. I cook on the BBQ whenever possible in the summer to keep the house cooler. . .so the disposable pan went in at 275 degree BBQ for two hours. This sauce is divine -- I may just eat the sauce and skip the grilled chicken! When cooking this recipe on the BBQ, check the pan often after 1.5 hours to keep from burning -- just another reason to use a disposable pan! Thanks, Melissa, for all the great recipes! Love watching you work through Next Food Network Star and now on your own show.

I made this sauce to go with grilled chicken breasts, like Melissa originally prepared, but all I kept thinking was about the other uses for this simple flavorful sauce. Pasta, chicken fingers, fish, rice, potatoes, french fries, mozzarella sticks, burgers, anything you would use ketchup or tomato sauce on. I was even thinking of adding some chicken stock and a splash of cream to the sauce and making a roasted tomato soup.
