I doubled this recipe and took some to my friend who is a new mom! She has children ages 3 and 6 too, everyone loves these. My 2 year old daughter helped me make them with rosemary from our garden. I followed the same recipe and it was perfect. They are light, crispy and melt in your mouth. The rosemary is a subtle flavor that pairs perfectly with the butter and salt. YUM!!! These are now a family favorite and I'll be making more tomorrow for my neighbors!

My 13 year old made this shortbread, and it was easy and delicious! We left out the rosemary to make it more kid-friendly, and everyone in the family loved it! We have made it several times now, using full-size chips, adding a little vanilla - it seems very adaptable and has turned out well each time.

So easy and delicious! The rosemary is such a wonderful surprise - I made them this afternoon and will have to make another batch right away. Thanks, Melissa, for another wonderful recipe.

This was a fun recipe to make with my three year old, and it tastes super yummy!! My husband says they remind him of a Christmas cookie: I think they would be tasty without the rosemary also...

These are easy to make with stuff people usually have on hand. I was a little afraid of rosemary in a cookie, so I omitted it, but followed everything else exactly. They were light, crisp, sweet, and tasty!

I adore Melissa and hoped she'd win. I like her genuine, sensical approach to family and budget friendly menus, and I find myself making a lot of her recipes lately.

Exactly as she described today on her show...just a little (not too sweet bit after a meal. Light and flaky. I have a rosemary plant, so used slightly less than I would have if dried. Otherwise, followed to a tee, and these things are unbelieveable. I will enjoy with my morning coffee. Thanks Melissa, and congrats on winning the next FN Star. (Wish I had the guts to try out!

OK everybody, I DID bake these and they are delicious! Lets all put on the big girl panties and stop cat fighting. This was simple and quick. And yes...cost less than $1. Please review recipe, not host or idea, you might just like it.

    Re: the jars
    1 They are fun!
2 They allow the flavors to blend together.
    3 They are beautiful.
4 They are good for the environment.
    5 Did I mention that they're fun?

You Texas ladies are negative and judgmental people! You could use a good dose of fun and imagination in your lives, I'll bet... So go ahead and try this meal out of a jar while at the beach watching a beautiful sunset with someone you love. It'll do you good!

P.S.- If you don't like Melissa's personality, don't watch the show. It's so simple.

These Shortbreads are Rock Star! Melissa demonstrated this recipe so well and they looked so yummy, I just had to make them immediately. I had all the ingredients on hand so I whipped them up...and WOW! The combination of sweet and savory was so delicious, I have a new melt-in-your-mouth favorite Shortbread. Thanks Melissa and keep up the great work...I enjoy watching you and your recipes never disappoint!
