Usually I stick to crab cakes with bread crumbs in the base...but Melissa's salmon cakes were a hit and the use of potato rather than bread crumbs was a terrific idea. I made the cakes smaller and served them as an appetizer with a cucumber-dill dipping sauce...so good.

I love Melissa's new show. It's like having a girl friend stop over with some good ideas to dish up...no bizarre table scapes (sorry, Sandy or "hey, baby" banter (sorry, Neeley's...just helpful ideas and good food. WISH IT WERE ON MORE FREQUENTLY AND IN EVENING TIME SLOT FOR THOSE WHO FIND IT HARD TO MAKE SUNDAY NOONTIME.

This is a very easy, tasty recipe. Everyone in our family loves it. I think that anyone who is seeing this recipe in an older cookbook is probably adding sour grapes to their version.

This was the best salmon cake recipe ever. The flavor was outstanding - Moma's never tasted this good. I can not wait to try your other recipes.

I think this is a great recipe. This is similar to my mom's recipe but kicked up a notch. So proud of you Melissa!!!

Very interesting that I already have this exact same recipe. It's in a recipe book my mother-in-law gave to me years ago. I had thought that Melissa's recipes were to be her own.

I loved this dish. The lemon zest really adds something different and yummy. Also, I like the fact that it's made with potato instead of bread crumbs.

I am so loving Melissa's recipes! She has the instinct of a trained chef but the practicality of a busy mom.

The Panko bread crumbs really made a crunchy salmon cake and the ingredients made for a flavorful change from the mundane recipe I always used.

Can't wait for your show Melissa!
