These are really good. It may take it out of the $10 range but better to get salmon that is already no bones and skin. Potato isn't totally necessary as you can replace the volume with extra salmon which I prefer (I don't like seafood cakes to have too much filler but doing it as written is a great and tasty way to get some salmon in on a limited budget

These are fantastic! I used poached salmon filets, canned salmon is not quite popular around here. I could easily form the patties, as well as shallow fry them after left the whole batch in the fridge about 30 minutes. This is my second try on Melissas very down to earth recipes and I'm very happy with the end results.

They didn't really do it for me...the only flavors i could taste was the lemon and the salmon...it was missing something...with all the ratings and reviews on this recipe i was expecting to be "wowed" but i was left a little dissapointed.

Loved your salmon cakes. Perfect amount of potatoes. Tasted like salmon + not potato cakes w/ salmon. The mixture seamed too loose, but fried up great. I used crumbled bacon w/ some bacon grease I stored in my freezer. Just heated the bacon up for 1 minute, removed it from the pan + then put the chopped onion in. I was out of lemons, so zested part of an orang. I loved it.

I didn't have a baked potato so I prepared a package of instant mashed potatoes and used less water to make the mashed potatoes thick. This worked like a champ. I added bread crumbs as I found the salmon cake mixture wet as well. Next time I will refrigerate mixture before forming in to patties as others have recommended. This recipe is great. We have never had canned salmon and my family really enjoyed these salmon cakes. I added a very small amount of lemon juice to the dipping sauce recipe. I wasnt sure how large these patties were suppose to be so I eyeballed it. It rendered 10 patties. Succulent!! Yummo.

VERY tasty and a good change from my usual salmon cakes. BUT, for me the mixture was extremely wet. I added bread crumbs to it to keep them from being too soft. They turned out delicious. Next time I will drain the salmon to cut down on the wetness but I will definitely make them again.

Melissa's program is one of our very favorites. This is a tasty recipe and a bit of a new twist on salmon cakes/patties. Thanks!

Easy and tasty recipe. This would be a great recipe for lent and/or to have ingredients on hand for a quick dinner. My husband and I both liked it as much as fresh salmon filets. So glad I saw this program at the gym.
