Really good. Liked the flavor. The mix was a bit wet for making good patties. It was a good way to use up leftover mashed potatoes and one leftover leek that I couldn't figure out how to use.

Completely excellent, thank you. We had leftover grilled salmon and it worked wonderfully.
Leftover salmon cakes are wonderful under an egg in benedict, too.
    thanks for this, Melissa.

EASY recipe and fantastic flavor. It is now my ONLY salmon cake recipe. For those of us watching our food dollars, this is very affordable. Thank you everyone for the hints and ideas you've posted.

It's amazing what you can substitute and still get the tastes and textures that appeal to you and your family. I love reading the comments here and get so many dinners from you! Thanks. PS: My partner is the gourmand in family so when he comments on something here, that's when I post! :

These are actually really good. I never thought they would turn out this delicious. And it was like less than ten bucks, it was great! You should definately give this recipe a try.

Excellent!! Didn't have any potatoes on hand so used additional 1/4 cup bread crumbs to mix with the salmon mixture. I also mixed the coating mix of bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese with the salmon mixture instead of coating the cakes. They turned out great! Will prepare again.

Instead of using the 14 ounce can of salmon, I used a 7 ounce can and a 7 ounce can of crab. They turned out beautifully and they didn't have that overly breaded taste that I find most fish cakes have. I will definately make these again!

These were so delicious!! I also added red and yellow bell peppers to the onion mixture. Used panko bread crumbs and they were so amazing. I have definitely found my "go to" salmon cake recipe. :

Best salmon cakes I've made. It seems like this would be a good base for crab cakes as well.
