Saw this show for the first time today and this receipe was sooo easy to make and so yummy~ I sauteed the bananas in butter and they came out just perfect soft from the inside and a nice crunch on the outside~ This is going to be a new dessert in my household!

I took the advice of a reviewer below and used 2 bananas, 2 tsp unsalted butter, 2 tsp sugar and 1 tbsp of oj, with a pinch of salt. I followed the directions and my bananas are a little mushy on the outside, but still firm on the inside. I topped my with whipped cream and they were yummy!!

I'm not a fan of cooked bananas, but watching Melissa make these, really gave me the incentive to try them. I'm so glad I did. They were delicious! The bananas had just the right amount of crunch and were not too mushy inside. The sauce was the crowning touch! Yummmmmm

I've made this twice, with bananas of different ripeness, and both times I've just gotten a mushy mess. The flavors are good, but the baby food texture is not worth it. She must have left out an important step to make them caramelized and crusty on the outside.

We've made this at our house a solid 5-6 times...each time different. We've ditched the tangy sauce (kids didn't like it & replaced it with ice cream...so good! We've also substituted a grapefruit (when we didn't have an orange in the house that worked well. What didn't work was not ripe bananas or too ripe of bananas. Not ripe enough = hard & kind of potato tasting, too ripe (ready for banana bread = mushy. Finding the right bananas is key.
No matter what it is a common request from my boys (age 5 & 7. And a moderately healthy dessert when we have it stand alone.

I really liked the flavors, the bananans and the tangy sweet cream was really interesting in a good way! But it was all kind of soft so I think it needs something crunchy. Next time I will make shortbread cookies to go with it and top it with toasted walnuts or almonds.

this was ok. i think i will adjust the brown sugar in the sweet cream. the bananas themselves were ok. the smell and taste reminded me of jarred banana baby food. my kids and husband did not care for it. i actually had all the ingredients so i made this recipe exact. will not make again.

Was very delicious. Loved the sauce with the bananas. Although i had alot of trouble carmalizing the banana's they kinda turned to mush but it was still delicious.

Sloppy and boring. I'll spend my time making something more interesting in the future.

I love simple hearty food, and this dish would qualify for that. While it is great as written, I accidently used a grapefruit the other night in place of the orange, and this dish was even better! The grapefruit seems to add some extra tangyness, which complements the sweetness of the bananas perfectly. So for something abit different, try grapefruit!
