This was so simple and fast. Husband and I really liked it. He asked for more apples next time.

Great recipe. It's easy, healthy and delicious! I didn't have a granny smith apple so I used a gala apple. And I just "cracked" the fennel seeds and it came out perfect. Definitely going to make this recipe again and again. Thanks Melissa!

My sliced grannies got soft and now I'm thinking that perhaps I sliced them too thin...no matter to me because it is the taste that I enjoy. Easy recipe...we like cabbage in my household but the apple was something I never added. I also never added the red wine in the past but since my husband owns a wine store this was no problem so I added some without measuring. It smells really great...although I think it could use a splash more tang.

I loved this recipe! We are of German descent and I thought it was pretty authentic in the taste.
Frankly I think the people who didn't give this a good review either:
    1 didn't make it correctly
2 had issues with Melissa not her cooking. Some of the comments had nothing to do with this recipe which really messes up the ratings!

I wanted to love it but just couldn't. It looked so pretty. I think the bit of sugar the last reviewer added was a good idea. A bit more sweetness might have balanced it out. I think what killed it for me was the fennel. It was just too much of that flavor.

This recipe is simply superb! I sauteed the Cabbage a bit longer and add a hint of sugar, if I want a bit more sweetness. The rub and the crust to the pork roast are so aromatic but not over powering. I served it with roasted potatoes and the more heavenly spicy Zinfindel. It complemented the dish perfectly. Bravo Melissa.

I didn't realize how much I loved cabbage. I loved the cabbage in this dish, but the apples were a little mushy for my taste.

This was not a delicious recipe. It wasn't terrible, just not pleasing.
