These are flavorful and a great way to add protein to your meal! So inexpensive too, love it! Great job Melissa!

I use canned beans because they are easier and I can get them on my WIC vouchers now. The WIC program has saved me a bundle and my family and I eat healthier. I love recipes I can make from items on my WIC list. The cumin, white wine, oregano, salt and pepper, and olive oil were not on he list, but those are everyday items. I ALWAYS have those items around. Thanks Melissa!

I don't understand why anyone would choose to watch a show they don't like.
I love Melissa's show! I don't watch the shows I don't love. It's all a matter of choice, Margaret. There seems to be something for everyone on the Food
    Network.

Besides liking the recipe, I loved the tip about buying, cooking and freezing the dried beans. For the price of a can of beans I bought a 1lb. bag, and now have 3 or 4 cans worth of beans, that aren't slimmy.
Who is this Margaret everyone one is referring to? I didn't see a review by her posted.

Melissa, I made this the other night for my husband. He thought these beans were great with the fish. I enjoy your down to earth personality on the show. Keep giving us all great recipes.

Food Network should change the name of Melissa's show from 'Ten Dollar Dinners' to '1001 ways to Serve White Beans'. It doesn't matter how much cumin, garlic, or lemon zest you add to them. They're still just white beans. Who does she think is watching, homeless people who can't afford any meat? Most homeless folks don't have cable TV, so please show those of us who do something besides white beans please.

I lived in Mexico for many years and they do cook like this and its great. The other comment is like saying the other comment was made by a female so she is dumb. She may be but I'm not! Great recipe!!

Margaret, complaining about the host or the dish is one thing, but driving down someone's rating because you wanted some other show to be on, is odd to say the least... If you have a problem with the programming on FN, please go down to the bottom of the screen, and use "Contact Us", and asked them your question, but please don't degrade a host because you are watching the wrong program. However, Melissa has said that she grew up in a Hispanic household, so she knows how to cook Mexican, regardless of whether she is Mexican or not.

Listen margaret, lets cut to the chase here you never made anything,
you are hateful.....Your Mexican made easy is still on, she was never
on in the afternoon, she is on in the morning...so you need to get up
early, i think Sat. maybe we should all go over & give her one star...
but then that would mean we are as low as you. everything melissa
makes is very, good. try to get over yourself!
