I would like to say this recipe was pretty good or even great...but it was BETTER than that it was PHENOMENAL!!! 1st time making shepherd's pie, wanted to for a long time but didn't have a reason, then friends invited us to a St.Patty's party and couldn't think of a better opportunity. There was EVERY other Irish dish but this one when we got there and all I heard about was how INCREDIBLE this was and saw people going back for seconds and thirds!!! Thank you, GREAT RECIPE!!

This Shepherd's pie was the best I've tasted- even better than the Shepherd's Pie I get at Kevin Barry's Irish Pub (Best Irish Pub in Savannah, GA, and that's saying quite a lot.

It's not a quick dish, so definitely save it for a weekend or your day off when you feel like spending a good amount of time in the kitchen. I've always loved cooking on weekend's so it's perfect.

The beer really gives it that authentic Irish flavor (none of the recipe's I've tried before called for beer, and I think that's what was missing.

Give it a try, you certainly won't be disappointed!

Wonderful and easy directions! All I needed to pickup at the store were the potatoes...which I just used 'gold'. The beer and rosemary added a great taste! It took me only about an hour to set up and put it in the oven...then there was the cooking time...but well-worth it! Go girl!!! I cannot wait to try your corned beef and cabbage!!!

This recipe has great ingredients, easy to find in your local grocery store.
To cut the time in cooking to enhance the thickness of the gravy just add more flour. That does the trick. Meissa makes tasteful and easy recipes.

We loved this Shepherd's Pie receipe. However, it took about 2 1/2 hours from start to finish. It was just as good the next day as a leftover. Good job Melissa.

This recipe may have a lot of steps in it, but they are easy to follow. This Shepherds Pie was so flavorful that my husband wanted a bigger belly so he could eat more. Great job Melissa! This recipe is a keeper.

I guess why I have come to love Melissa. She always cooks in an order
that is easy to follow in the normal home.
I love her shows. I tape them to watch over.
Keep Melissa on. She is one of your best. This recipe is going o be
one of my regular recipes now.

Made this the other night, alot of steps, but well worth it! I've made one shepard's pie before in my life and it was a disaster-ppfftt. But this recipe was so easy and flavorful, will use it again. Had to cook longer to thicken the beer sauce up, but again, so worth it. Thanks Melissa!!
