Great, great, great recipe!!! First time making Sheperds Pie and this was such an easy and great tasting recipe. The only thing I changed was using buttermilk in the mashed potatoes instead of the broth (left over buttermilk from making Irish soda bread. I will make this again!!!!

This came out great. It's really not hard to make and I followed the recipe exactly, except a little less than a whole beer to reduce the liquid (I taste-tested some of it. And put a little cayenne pepper in. At first, I thought the onions were going to be too much, but they cooked down perfectly and don't even notice them. Overall, a great recipe. Thanks so much.

We have never made this before but wanted an Irish dish for St. Patrick's Day. It was really good! We would recommend you change the prep time. It was more than double (at least than noted. Despite this it tasted great.
We suggest caramelizing the carrots with the onions and browning the meat separately (it will take less time. We doubled the tomato paste and added more cheese topping.
Definitely a winner for this holiday.

This is the best Shepherd's Pie recipe I've found, such great flavors all come together beautifully. I made one straight from the recipe and one with parsnips and sweet potato added, both were so good. Ive made this several times and it is always a hit!

This was absolutely the best Shepherds pie I have ever made and/or eaten!! It is very easy and pretty cheap to make. Even my two and a half year old picky eater loved it!

I LOVE this recipe. It's simple yet delish! I followed the others advice and added my carrots in with my onion. I also added 8 oz of beer and 4 oz of broth. I did not add the other 1/2 cup of broth. I made it once before as is, and found the broth to be a bit too soupy for my liking and the beer a little strong. I also added some chili powder & papirika. All in all the backbone to this reciepe is amazing and I'll use it time and time agian...with my own twists!
