This was soooo good! My picky 13 year old even ate the leftovers the next day, and trust me that is saying something!!! I did not alter anything, and it was perfect. Definitly going into my permnant recipe box!

This is an amazingly delicious recipe. It does take some time to make but well worth the work. My entire family loved it. The recipe calls for bacon and I did not have any at the time but it still came out great. I will also try substituting lamb for ground beef as I believe this is the traditional meat used for Sheperd's PIe. This dish is just as flavorful the next day. I used Coors beer (how un-Irish but still worked so I suppose any type of beer would work. 2 thumbs up.

This is nasty. I have made many different Shepherd's Pie recipes and this is the worst. A lot of work for no payoff. Have never been a fan of Melissa's dishes but this is the worst of the worst!

I've been making this since last St. Patrick's Day in 2010 - it is a family favorite year round. We skip the bacon and use Sam Adams Beer. I like to make it the day before, refrigerate it then stick it in the oven after work for an awesome weekday dinner. OUTSTANDING Recipe!

AMAZING! Each bite is so full of flavor. It may be easy to make- but this dish is a labor of love. I read past reviews and blanched the carrots. We used an Irish Red Lager for the beer-which added great aroma's to my kitchen. Fellow Chef's don't skip out on the garlic. It was not to overpowering. My St. Patrick's day will never be tasteless again. Thank you Melissa!

This was ABSOLUTELY delicious! I made this for a group of people last night and they LOVED IT!! The flavor was wonderful! Thanks so much! The recipe is easy! It take a while to make, but it is totally worth it! One thing that helped me was that I made the filling and the topping at the same time. That helped to cut down on time.

This dish was so savory and delicious! A hug hit in my household. It is worth the time spent on prep. I think next time I may make them in individual ramekins and freeze half. I used Guinness Draught and it gave it such a rich, deep flavor. This is my new St Patty's Day & cold weather day go to!!

I have made Shepherd's Pie before but wanted to try this recipe and I'm glad I did. It was really good. I used ground turkey to save some fat and worried that the turkey may be too bland but the seasonings were right on. The only thing I would do differently is to cut back on the sugar in the onions. It was a little too sweet for me.
