It was very easy and it was delicious, my kids loved it. I would not describe it as butterscotch but more like a chai like someone previously mentioned. I would add a little more cayenne next time because I like that taste. Will definitely make again.

I could have eaten the entire pot myself it was so good. As easy as instant pudding is to make, I think I will take the extra couple of steps and make this from now on. It took about 10-15 minutes on the stove (seemed like less on the show. The heat/tickle in the back of your throat from the cayenne made me crave the pudding for hours after it was all gone. Melissa rocks!

This was my first attempt at making homemade pudding and I couldnt believe how easy it was! I loved the texture of this and the cayenne was subtle and yummy! Thanks Melissa!

I made this almost exactly as the recipe instructs and it is delicious! I found this came together in about 15 minutes. Unlike Melissa on the show, I did stand at the stove and whisk constantly as instructed in the recipe. I, however, wouldn't call the flavor "butterscotch" but for me, that is a good thing! I used chai spice instead of cinnamon and omitted the cayenne. I htink this is a great base for all kinds of puddings. I could see melting chocolate chips at the end or, as another reviewer suggested, using a flavored syrup instead of vanilla. Lots of possible scenarios with this great recipe!

I also made the butterscotch pudding. To save some calories I used FF Half and Half, and for an added twist I substituted sugar free Hazelnut (Torani syrup for the vanilla. It was delicious. I will be making this again. It was very easy and no artificial stuff that comes in the package!!! Keep up the good work, you are always on my Tivo list!!!

the instructions clearly state 10 minute cook time. She has very good ideas and recipes. Try this again, it does work set.

I love the flavor of this pudding, but after following the directions exactly, it it is really too thin. I will try this again but increase the cornstarch by 1 TBL and see if it makes a difference. We ate it all in spite of this, and everyone thought it was delicious. The cayenne adds a wonderful warm note, and puts it over the top, flavor wise.

I was excited to try my first recipe from Melissa. I have 3 notebooks full of Food Network recipes that I've tried and love. How disappointed I was when the pudding never set up! I questioned her method but figured it was tried and tested. The written recipe was vague indicating no specific times for cooking on the stove. I checked Joy of Cooking and did what they said, though their method was different. Whatever I did, I guess it wasn't right. I thought it had thickened on the stove but, next day, I still just have a soupy mess. It'll be a while before I try any of her recipes again. I hate to waste the material and time.
