I made this for the first time tonight. My husband and I thought this was a wonderful main dish. All the flavors mixed beutifully... the bread for dipping was deliciious. I was not able to find harissa but followed the althernate as suggested. I used PEI mussels which stayed plump and tender. This is certainly something I will make again.

This was a great recipe. I should have added a little more spice, as it wasn't quite spicy enough for me, but it had good flavor and depth.
The cooking process was far easier than I thought it would be. I had a great time making it and my date devoured it.

I asked my family if this was a 4 or 5 star recipe and they said 5.
I made this tonight but did not have harissa. I used the suggested replacement of tomato paste and cayenne pepper. My family likes it spicy so I added an extra teaspoon of red pepper flakes and a heaping teaspoon of cayenne. It was just right for our tastes. I do want to try this with the harissa as I am sure it will add another dimension of flavor.
Very easy and very fast!
