I think you and NULL ought to get a room. Your reviews need to be kept in your disturbed mind!!!!!!! You make yourself look foolish and vicious!!

I have a number of tapenade recipes, and this rates right up there. I didn't add salt, as it was salty enough for me. I suspect "Gwynne" either doesn't know much about tapenades, or is really Sandra Lee in disguise. Melissa's recipes far outrank SL's.

I agree there is no way this is an actual recipe review. The person is basing this soley on the salt content as being unhealthy. Anything in moderation. Please don't just bash a recipe without tasting it!!

If you don't like salty, don't make this. Any one that even thinks they're a cook knows that olives and capers are salty.

    This is delicious!

Just made this after watching today's show. Mine is not too salty. That could vary highly depending on what type olives and capers were used. I used regular canned black olives, pimiento stuffed green olives, (because that's what was in the pantry a fruity olive oil, and Italian tuna packed in olive oil. My capers were the ones packed in vinegar, not salt. For the bread I used purchased crostini rounds from Fresh Market. My lemon was very large and juicy. Next time I make this I think I will use a bit less lemon juice and add some chopped fresh parsley. I love that this was so easy to make.

Made the recipe and it was wonderful. Didn't add the salt as I tasted it first and found that it was not needed.

Gwynne - you seem to continue to slam Melissa's recipe's. If you don't care for her, why follow her? Regarding your comment of the salt content. If your not a salt person, why did you add the salt without tasting first. If you had watched the show you would have seen that Melissa tasted first before adding the salt. Perhaps if you had followed her first, it would have been more pleasing for you. If your opposed to salt entirely, why would you even try it since olives & capers are high in salt content.

I love tapenade and it sounds great with tuna. Can't wait to try it!
Tapenade is always made with olives and usually anchovies which are Saltier then tuna!
Gwynne rated this recipe out of spite, just as she did all of Melissa's recipes.
Get a Life...spend some time maybe learning to cook.

Inedible, due to the salt taste. Too many capers, coupled with the green olives just send this over the top. Ick. She actually has additional salt as an ingredient, which is just unbelievable! I didn't even add it and still couldn't eat it. The sodium content for the recipe is 3,065+ mg. The crostini doesn't help cut the salt either, as there's additional salt on them. Melissa continues to over-salt her recipes, which is very unhealthy. The recipe also has a really unappetizing consistency. Really mad at wasted ingredients.
