These are really yummy, but i agree with everyone else...they are SUPER difficult to roll. I ended up wrapping about 10 at a time in soaking wet papertowels and just leaving them in the microwave. Then, I'd heat for 30 sec to start, and remove one, roll quickly and get in the oil. Then, I'd head for 10 sec each time I'd remove one and roll it. You have to work very quickly and a couple times I had to use two toothpicks. The salsa is incredible though we like hotter salsa so we added hot sauce and also served with sour cream. The whole fam loved them! Great use of leftover turkey that doesn't really taste like turkey.

Very tasty filling. I'm not a fan of turkey especially turkey leftovers and this was a great way to fix them. I didn't have a problem with the cracking tortillas (key is to do wet paper towels between them and heat only for 10 seconds and then fry immediately after rolling. I think they need more cheese though.

Loved it. Microwaving the tortillas worked for me. I was hoping there would be left overs for me to take for lunch tomorrow, but no such luck.

I thought the filling was amazing!
I tried to fry the taquito's, but I failed, so I placed them in the oven at 400 until they were gold and crispy. Delish!
I used the dark turkey meat and also threw in other cheeses such as pepper jack and colby. I served them at my friends house and they were a party hit! The cranberry sauce was also very good! If you want the sauce spicer, just at some habinero sauce!!!

These looked really good when I watched the episode so I decided to give them a try. I'm not a big fan of turkey so I used some leftover chicken. I too had a problem with the tortillas falling apart when I rolled them up. After 4 tries I gave up and fried the tortillas whole and made a sort of quesadilla. I layered the filling between two fried tortillas, topped them with more cheese then put them under the broiler for a minute to melt the cheese. I served these with the cranberry salsa which was really delicious. It was good and I will try this again but I might use flour tortillas instead since I won't have to do anything to them to make them work.

twinmom702-I did the same exact thing, and then put them in the hot oil right away before they could crack again. I was thinking they would make good quesadillas too, and then you could cook them in just a little oil. I made the cranberry salsa too, but I only used 1/2 jalapeno in it, and it was plenty spicy enough for us. The taquitos and the salsa were very tasty!

Lemonade100 - Same happened here. In my frustration I made the tortillas super wet, covered with a wet paper towel and microwaved them in batches of 5 for 30 sec. - worked like a charm. Guess damp is not enough for the ones they sell at my store.

I added spicy Ranchero sauce to the filling. Not a big fan of dark turkey meat but they were super tasty. Will make them again next year.

Help, the tortillas were a disaster, despite microwaving and keeping them under a damp kitchen towel. They cracked before we could fry them. Filling is tasty.
