Well, I searched epicurious for a Chocolate Fondue recipe to serve New Years Eve. A bunch of neighbors were getting together and going house to house where each house served a tapas type dish. My house was the last. I wanted something tasty and easy. Cheese and chocolate fondue served with Champagne was the ticket. I cheated and used Safeways gourmet Cheese fondue packet, however, chocolate fondue was another story. When I searched Epicurious I read a complicated recipe with only a moderate rating and a reviewer had mentioned this recipe being the holy grail of chocolate fondue recipes. I have to agree. It was super simple and delicious. I used Girards 60% bittersweet chocolate bits and Stirling Cabernet and everyone raved. Thanks Michael!

Even my friends who claimed they had no sweet tooth couldn't get enough. I served it with fresh pineapple, strawberries, pound cake cubes, mini marshmallows, bananas, and maraschino cherries. It was so easy and so quick, this is my one and only dessert fondue recipe I will ever use. Thanks Michael!

I used merlot instead of cab. I couldn't stop eating it, it was just that good. Rich and chocolatey wihout being overly sweet. Plain wonderful.

This is the BEST choc fondue I have ever had. My husband and I were both surprised with how wonderful it was when we tried a spoonful of what was leftover from the fridge. It tastes like very expensive chocolates, the smoothest I have ever tasted. I used Ghirardelli bittersweet and didn't have the wine so left it out. It was a hit at my party. Thank you!

I whipped this up for my new years crowd in no time. I didn't use any wine and we dipped bananas, marshmellows and angel food cake! So easy and sweet and creamy. Throw everything in a bowl and zap it in the micro and you're done! I used Ghiradelli bittersweet.
