I'd never made an infused vodka before...what was I waiting for??? My week was up last night, and so I had to do some "quality control" tasting prior to bottling it for my Christmas gift baskets. What a surprise! I don't drink vodka straight, but this is one that I could. Ended up drinking it with tonic and fresh lime, though. I like the idea the last reviewer had of pairing it with champagne. I used two 1.5 liter bottles and doubled the rest of the ingredients from the recipe (although technically I guess they should have been quadrupled. My result was delightful. I triple-filtered it, then pressed out the cranberries to get as much of the residual vodka out of them, then filtered that as well. I didn't know how the cranberry pulp would affect the "shelf life" of the vodka (even refrigerated, although frankly, I don't think it'll stick around long. I was able to get some pretty bottles from Pier One, and they're standing on my counter now, waiting to go into the gift bskets. I'll pair them with two martini glasses, a cocktail shaker, Christmassy stir-sticks, some limes and two small bottles of tonic. I thank you, Michael, and my friends will DEFINITELY thank you!

We made this recipe & gave it as gifts after seeing the show last year. We used the amount of ingredients that were shown on the show. (Another review has them listed. Everyone loved it! Serve it in a flute & top it off with Champagne instead of tonic water. It makes a very festive cocktail.

Absolutely fabulous. So simple and makes a great Holiday gift. I made it with 1.5 cups sugar instead. Even those who dislike Vodka wanted more servings!I made a second and third batch!

I saw this program with a friend and thought it looked fantastic. She made a batch and before it was finished I made my own. She used vanilla extract and I used a bean. Mine turned out FAR BETTER. A vanilla bean is less than two dollars, so slightly expensive but so incredibly worth it! What a better outcome. I don't need anything to drink with this!
I also made a pomegranate and tangerine version for my friend. And after four days it is amazing, I can't wait till it has sat a couple more.
I love that when it is strained you can still see flecks of vanilla in it.
And make sure you cook the berries until AFTER They burst. It makes a huge difference. You want to release those juices and let them mix with the vodka.
I am going to make this again and again and again!

The taste is amazing!! Preparation was so easy. I did have a hard time finding perfect sized bottles to present the finished infusion. I'm giving the cranberry-orange vodka as christmas presents and can't wait to see their faces !!!

This was surprisingly easy and quick to make. The hard part was waiting a week. The first time I made it, I followed all the directions, except for the tonic water, which I substituted with club soda. The next time I used pomegranate seeds (pomegranates are in season in November and clementine peels instead of orange bc it is what I had on hand. I used less sugar (I like mine less sweet and stuck with the soda water. DELICIOUS!!! Can't wait to bring to a party this weekend!

I made this for Christmas last year after seeing the show. Absolutely fabulous! My friends and family loved receiving this. The bottles were beautiful dark pink, and they made great martinis! Michael never disappoints with a recipe. Make this. You'll love it. Also tried Vanilla Vodka, and that was even better.Smirnoff worked better than Absolut, believe it or not.

So easy & a unique (and welcome gift at the holidays.
Bonus - the berries still have flavor after the first go-around; we got another batch out of them. The 2nd batch just needed a little additional sugar to cut the tartness.
It was tough finding pretty bottles to give this away in. A local wine & beer making store had a good selection.
