Easy to do. Did not make my own onion rings. I used canned fried onions.

I used 1/2 cup red wine and 1/2 cup stock. I used pine nuts instead of fried onions

I made this for our Easter feast. It was absolutly delicious and everyone agreed it was the best Green Bean Casserole they ever had. The aromas were indescribable. This dish will be a regular at my holiday dinners.

This version of g.b.c. is light and
    super tasty. It's my favorite.

First off, let me say the flavors are all there. It would be five star dish save for one thing. I found that the sauce was a little watery. So the times are a little off. Allowing 3 to 5 minutes for the sauce to reduce really didn't cut it. I was hoping the sauce would at least cling lightly to the beans. Next time I'll probably back out some of the time cooking the mushrooms and add it to the reduction period.

Thanksgiving I made the casserole and they loved them. The children went back for seconds. My family & friends when ever we have a gathering ask me to make it and give them the recipe. Thanks foodnetwork for being available for this busy mom.

This was a delicious side dish on our Thanksgiving table - and will be a yearly repeat! I dont think it should be called a casserole tho - it was not creamy and that is what I loved about it. Add lots of fried onions right before serving .... the crunch is great with the soft beans and mushrooms.
