This dish needed something else in it, as it was kind of flavorless. I even added a pat of butter to the reduced brandy, wine and chicken broth after I removed the green beans and mushrooms. It still wasn't enough. I think this recipe needs some cheese, such as parmesan or fontina, and maybe a little spice, such as red pepper flakes..to give it some zip.

I have altered this somewhat. One thing I will do differently next thyme is do not use the thyme. It's way too strong. I hope my in laws will still like it. I'm still not sure if I do.
