My family loves this recipe! The first time I made it, I followed the recipe exactly. We decided that the amount of onion and peppers the recipe calls for is actually better for two loaves, so I usually double everything else so we will have an extra loaf to freeze. I have also found that fresh bread crumbs taste much better in this recipe than the packaged kind.

My husband LOVES meatloaf so I have tried quite a few recipes. This is definitely worthy of 5 stars! I had some roasted red peppers so I used that in place of the fresh pepper. Excellent meatloaf! We will be making this a lot from now on!

I had friends over for this meatloaf, and they were skeptical at first. I tend to cook more "noble" dishes for our gatherings, and they thought this would be your average cafeteria type of meal.
It turned out to be fantastic. It has a very homey taste, which is so good for this kind of a dish.
I also found a recipe for merinara sauce and did that first. It's important not to introduce any "grocery store flavors", so make everything from the scratch.

I made the meatloaf it was good and moist, the only problem not to tasteful. Next time I make it will double all the seasoning maybe even triple for flavor, otherwise it's good.

I don't like meatloaf to start with but i made it since it had great reviews and my hubby loves it. my hubby was satisfied with it but it was totally boring and seasonless to me. the only meatloaf i have ever tasted that really was worth my while was that made with ground round or ground sirloin or a mixture thereof. if its made with anything less, they can just throw it back. yucky boringness....

The recipe is very simple to make. Use ketchup instead of marinara. I'm a health freak, so I used ground turkey instead of beef and egg beaters instead of eggs. I served this to my brother and mother n law for the first time yesterday and they couldn't believe I used ground turkey and egg beaters. If your into watching your figure try these substitutes.

The meatloaf was fanstastic. I loved it. I didn't put any peppers in it cuz I didn't have any but it still tasted great. I thought my moms meatloaf was good. but I think this is much better.

After searching for that perfect meatloaf, I have finally found it in Michael's Italian Meatloaf. It's moist, flavorful, and all-around delish! I've made it a number of times; tonight with ground turkey. Turkey's gotta be the blandest "meat" ever, but when used in this recipe, it tastes really, really great. And is a healthy alternative to ground beef, although ground beef is even more scrumptious. Also a great rendition is to mix beef and pork and/or veal for the authentic Italian "meatball" meatloaf. I followed his measurements to a tea, and fed my husband, 4 children and myself, with plenty leftover for meatloaf sandwiches another night. Try it; you'll be hooked on this meatloaf recipe!
