If following the recipe as given on the show, this is a terrific meatloaf. But the written recipe is not the same in qauantity of method.

Please don't listen to the other reviewer who fouled this up completely-this recipe is fantastic, and the meatloaf has so much flavor when done correctly. We loved it. Michael's recipes never disappoint with flavor!

I did not see the episode but was looking for a new meatloaf recipie. I did leave out the red pepper. Also, the grocery store was out of fresh basil so I substituted italian seasoning. The taste of the meatloaf was OK. Typically you only lightly mix meatloaf so it isn't tough and this is what I did. I did not like the little clumps of soggy bread crumbs throughout the meat loaf. I usually use oats and so far that seems to be the best filler for meatloaf.
