I used canned mango that I dranined and pureed to mix with the milks( whole & sweet/condensed I used fresh mango for the rum sauce I added rasberries for color and let them marinate in the rum/sugar for a few hours. The real key for this recipe for me was to have the eggs at room temperature and even though I used a hand mixer getting the volume out of the eggs it took a while but well worth the wait it came out fantastic and my dinner guest were very pleased.

My sister and I made this dessert for a Mexican themed dinner and our guests were raving about how good it was. It is pretty easy to make and was delicious served with vanilla bean ice cream.

i love this cake. but, it think it's better without the extra mangos soaked in rum and sugar. it's delicious by itself!

This is a great cake, unlike any I've had before. I pureed fresh mango instead of canned (one way to control sweetness. If you like mango, you'll like this dessert!

Making this dessert was not only a waste of time but it was also a waste of ingredients.

I didn't use the written cake recipe. I used the cake recipe from Emeril's Tres Leches cake. I had made the Tres Leches a few times, so I knew the cake worked well. I was uncertain of this cake recipe because it had the same number of eggs, but half the flour and sugar of the Tres Leches cake recipe. The mango/milk mixture was absolutely delicious, however it did not soak all the way through the cake. Perhaps I should have had faith in the cake recipe as written. Never the less, the cake was still very good and everyone enjoyed it. I marinaded the diced mango in coconut rum which was very good.

This got gobbled up by friend and family before it got finished soaking. It had an "off" flavor in it somewhere perhaps from the parchment?

I had the same experience as Sue. The cake doesn't taste good but the sauce is great.
