My jaw dropped when I read this recipe! I have been making these tacos for 20+ years. I add some mushrooms when I saute' the onions along with some Worcestershire sauce and some Gravy Master (I put that happy stuff on my Wheatees in the morning and do an occasional shot at times. Anyone that has not used this needs to put some in their pantry!. I also use Aldi brand taco seasoning (don't laugh, it's cheap and yummy for ease when I am in a hurry. My little man orders these up every ten days or so,and he is about as picky of an eater as it gets. Everyone that likes tacos needs to try this recipe as it is sure a hit at supper time! Great job!!!! Jeff and the little varmint say so.

This recipe was fantastic!! Cooking for 2 so only used 2 large skinless breasts. Added half a red bell pepper and used 1 jalapeño instead of Serrano. Didn't have cumin seeds so subbed 1 tablespoon of cumin, and cut the other spices to 1 tbsp each paprika and oregano. Sauteed 5 cloves of garlic with one and a half diced red onions and the red peppers, then added the browned chicken, spices, jalapenos and 2 cups stock. Simmered for about an hour, and added a little sauce from chipotle chiles (about a tablespoon and a teaspoon or less of red pepper. Dashes of lime along the way, too. Delicious!!!!! Anyone that says this is bland doesn't know how to cook!!! Season along the way, taste and add a little more of what's needed

Before serving make sure the flavor is very bold since its it is going on a shell with toppings. As far as the thickness goes, have some flour diluted in water ready and add as needed in the last few minutes of simmering. I added extra oregano, 1 packet of sazon and adobo. It was perfect served on homemade tortillas!

OMG - This recipe is AMAZING. I was also hesitant at 1st with the amount of onion, garlic, and the spices at 1st but this dish worked really well. My house smells awesome and my family loved it. The only bad thing is we want to eat too much of it. I made this with some homemade Cuban black beans and made rice incorporating some of the spices used in the taco filling. This will become a staple in our house!

Excellent recipe. I used 3 split breasts and halved the rest of the ingredients and easily served 4 with leftovers. I had just sweet paprika and about a tablespoon of chopped pickled jalapenos instead of the serenos and it was great. Kids loved it too.

Delicious and spicy. I cut the recipe in half and added the cilantro and pinto beans right to the mixture.

At first I was a bit scared with all the spices used but it blended together perfectly. My kids loved it as well. It was easy to make as well. I will definitely make this again.

I cut this down to just doing a single chicken breast to have some tacos for myself for breakfast. I omitted the flour and just reduced the sauce to nearly dry and put it on fresh made corn tortillas with some guacamole. Great Sunday morning breakfast!
