Actually, 3 1/2 stars - 'flavor' was a little bit 'light'. Plenty hot without being overpowering - a note to earth456 - did you forget to take the seeds and veins out of the serranos? Not unexpected, since this recipe - as posted - does not say one word about how to 'prepare' them! Use them whole? Slice them? Hmmmmm... Anyway, will use again, but I'm looking for a way to amp up the 'depth' of flavor.

Great way to cook sausage but we should have been warned us more about the heat level of Serrano chilies. Here in the southwest we are used to spicy chillies but these were way too much for a pasta sauce.

Not sure that my family will ever let me cook for them again after this flaming disaster.

I loved the way Michael advised cooking the sausage. The sausage was just the right texture and the spiciness of the dish was right on. This is definitely a keeper!

The sausages came out very good and they were very easy to make. I didn't use the spicy sausages nor the hot peppers - just regular pork sausages and one red pepper. Fresh basil adds sweeteness and lighteness to the sauce. I will definately make this again.

Mmmm - we made this dish right after Michael "showed us how", and we are all better fed and more knowledgeable because of his teaching! We all loved this with a simple salad and bread. Mom tossed in some kalamata olives to the sauce just because we nibbled them while cooking - this made a beautiful contrast to the already lovely dish. You will want to keep this recipe as we did. Enjoy!

Wonderfully tasteful sauce and very easy to make. I used a hot Italian sausage and eliminated the serrano peppers and it had a very nice kick to it. I would definately make this again, perhaps for company.

My husband who is not a huge fan of pasta dishes loved this one. I will make again!

This is an excellent recipe. It is now a standard in our house but we do not like it so spicy. We use mild Italian saugage and leave out the hot peppers. The FRESH basil gives it a delightful fresh & light flavor.

I made this for an anniversary picnic for my husband and he ate almost all of it in one sitting.
