This salad was really good and super easy to make. Like other reviews, I couldn't find fava beans or edamame (I was in a hurry and didn't look too hard: so I just used extra peas (sugar snap and asparagus.
The salad is very fresh tasting and you can substitute almost any ingrediants.

I didn't use risotto I used Israeli Couscous I also couldn't find Fava beans I used Edamame. If you are a vegetarian you will love it we made it with out the ham. We are not vegetarians but we wanted to have it with lamb for Easter. The flavors were wonderful everyone loved it and it was good but we all thought that it was missing something. We realized at the end that this is one of the few things that did not call for garlic. It was missed and i will have to put it in next time. I also added some chopped celery because my friend was making a dish with peas already in it and it work fine. It was just great. This is a very versatile recipe

This was very yummy! I couldn't find fava beans so I used shelled edamame which we love anyway.

I loved this salad! I used other reviewers ideas and used pine nuts and edamame (I have never found fava beans anywhere!. The lemon dressing was great and it was a light and wonderful side dish. Thank you Michael - another winner.

I needed a recipe for fava beans and this was perfect! Although the prep time was a bit longer than 20 minutes, the insalata was great. I substituted chopped panchetta for the ham. And for vegetarians, it is a wonderful dish without the meat. This will be added as one of my favorites. Thank you Michael for this fabulous recipe!

No way can you do this in 20 minutes. It takes at least that long to go through the whole fava bean process. I used edamame instead. Not quite the same but a lot less work.

This was a beautiful and great tasting salad. I omitted the ham and added grilled salmon instead. I also added a handful of toasted pine nuts. I will definitely be making this again.

Made this the first time without the fava beans and we really enjoyed it. Finally found fava beans and the second time was even better! Perfect as a side or a main course.
