The flavor is delicious! I can't imagine this without a vegetable stock base though, even though the recipe also includes water in lieu of stock. Also, I found it thin, even using whole milk yogurt. I recommend increasing the amount of yogurt used. But a very nice summer soup for a hot day.

I was watching Michael prepare this and couldn't wait to fix some myself. It smelled so good I couldn't wait for it to chill so I ate it at room temperature and loved it! I know he said to use the whole fat yogurt, but I had the no fat in my fridge and I still thought it turned out great. I have a lot of basil in my backyard so I am always looking for a way to use it in recipes!
    Thanks Michael!

Very nice, crisp flavors, and very refreshing. I'd recommend making it the day before and chilling in the fridge overnight. Letting the flavors mix for the extra time really strengthens the flavor and makes a big difference.

This sounded so strange to me that I had to try it. Even though I could not name anything else that tasted similar to me, it was very light and refreshing. I followed the recommendations of others - I reduced the stock to 2 cups and used 1&1/2 cups of yogurt.
It was pretty good on a very hot/humid day. Might try it with a flavored mint.

If you like basil and creamy soups you will love this soup. The diced tomato is a nice touch - used beef broth, well 1/2 water 1/2 broth and it worked well. will make again.

Made this for my mother and I to satisfy our mostly veggie tastes and it was fantastic! Easy to make and easy to eat! Very light so may want to pair with something more substantial for a dinner, but the recipe is perfect!

I found both the yogurt and the amount of stock needs to be halved and the amount of basil should be doubled.

I could not stop eating this soup! And the good thing was, I didn't have to. It was good for me. Great flavor! Even though this is a "summer" soup. I love it in the dead of Winter!!!
