Im from the beautiful city of San Diego and travel across the border to Tijauna all the time, and this is a Michelada here. I dont know how they make them in IL. Many places give you other options.. so at the end, its what ever your preferance is. And trust me, she is as authentic as they come in Tijuana, if you dont like it then change the channel sweetheart! I love her recipes.

Ahhhh...I crave Michelada's!! This tasty beverage can be made in a variety of ways. Why not try them all? My favorite is Marcela's recipe with a few shots of Tapatio Hot Sauce, just like my Tia and Tio make them. Yummy!

I have to agree with some of the prior comments about Marcela's recipe being partially accurate given that different regions of Mexico prepare it differently. One thing that is for sure, though worcestershire sauce is tasty in a Michelada, IT DOESN'T Make it authentic due to the lack of worcestershire sauce is the small pueblos in Mexico or Tabasco sauce for a matter of fact. So, Texans keep you opinions to yourself.

Good stuff. To the folks claiming it's not really a michelada, well, there are lots of variations on mixed drinks. A bloody mary is still a bloody mary even if you don't use horseradish... or celery seed... or garnish with olives instead of celery.

    Just enjoy it!

    Great Work Marcela!!!

I am from Texas and the Micheladas include 3 dashes of Tabasco, 7 dashes of Louisiana hot sauce, and 2 dashes of worchesteshire in addition to the ingredients shown. Spicy and delicious!

I have to say that it is still a great drink but when you only put lime juice it is not a Michelada! A michelada starts off the same way but it also includes a few drops of tabasco, worchestire sauce, clamato, celery salt, and pepper.

I have to say that this recipe was awesome. Please be aware that there are many regional differences when it comes to Mexican cuisine, so please don't be too harsh with critiques just because you may be used to something different. This was refreshing and went great with fish tacos.

Hi Marcela, I am really glad somebody is showing how to cook real Mexican food, you are doing great! But as Mexican I can tell you that is not a michelada, as you might know the real micheladas have, maggy or workshire sauce and something hot as tabasco sauce with the lemon what you prepared in you show is a Chelada. Saludos!!!
