My uncle loved these and he is not a fan of veggies! I substituted bean sprouts for cabbage, since I am not really a cabbage fan. I also added a can of bamboo shoots and water chestnuts to give it a nice crunch.

I've never made dumplings before, and though it is a bit of a labor intensive process, it's not especially difficult. The recipe doesn't really specify how long all of this is supposed to take, so I just eyeballed everything. So far it's been about 1.5 hours and I'm most of the way through making my second batch. Not fast food, but not terrible either. I wanted to add more flavor to the filling, so I tossed in a splash of mirin and chili oil. The dipping sauce is tasty too. You could really put almost any vegetable in these, and I really like another reviewer's suggestion of using bok choy, but the red onions add a nice sweet flavor I really like. This recipe goes a long way, I think I'm going to get two dozen dumplings out of it! Thinking about freezing some. I'll likely make these again in the future.

Very good recipe. One cup chives seems crazy, so I used the amount that came in one package from the supermarket. I also used less carrot because I wanted more cabbage than carrot. Tasty.

I made these for my daughter who was visiting from the west coast. She said she felt like she was eating in a fine restaurant. The flavors were wonderful and the dipping sauce added the final zip. I made the pot sticker filling one day and then filled the wrappers and laid them on a cookie sheet w/parchment paper, covered with damp towel in fridge the next. Had to look on another site to understand how to pleat them. We served them with veg. fried rice and it was certainly a great addition to my vegetarian cooking. Will definitely make again.

Tasty and easy. I couldn't find dumpling skins so I used wanton wrappers. No scallions, used chives in the sauce. Very tasty.

This is my favorite pot sticker recipe hands down. The flavors of the combination of vegetables complement each other really well. I use a different dipping sauce which contains soy sauce and rice wine vinegar and sugar, probably because of a southern sweet tooth. I make these pot stickers frequently in very large batches and freeze them due to the work invovled in making them. Yum, Yum!!!
